"By taking a long and thoughtful look at what God has created, people have always been able to see what their eyes as such can't see: eternal power, for instance, and the mystery of his divine being.  So nobody has a good excuse."

Connecting with People

At the core of R120's mission is a passion to connect people to each other and to their Creator.  We believe these connections are built and sustained in service, especially to those who need help the most.  Scripture calls us to care for the orphan and the widow, and we live out these commands through the House of Hope orphanage in Sinazongwe, Zambia.

The House of Hope Orphanage is located on the western shore of of Lake Kariba in Sinazongwe, Zambia.  Sometimes referred to as "the Valley," this part of the Zambezi River system relies primarily on fishing and agriculture to support its population.

Before the House of Hope, orphans from the area were relocated to an orphanage nearly 5 hours away, making visits by extended family incredibly difficult.  The House of Hope allows children to remain close to their home and their families, giving them opportunities to learn and grow in a familiar environment.

R120 partners with Noah Ministries to keep people on the ground at the House of Hope at all times.  We invite widows to work as caregivers for orphans, with one widow responsible for up to 12 children.  The children are given an opportunityto know Jesus, pursue education, and learn sustainable agriculture, and the women are given new life and purpose by caring for others.

"Religion that is pure and undefiled before God, the Father, is this: to visit orphans and widows in their affliction..."  -James 1:27 (ESV)

"If a brother or sister is poorly clothed and lacking in daily food, and one of you says to them, "Go in peace, be warmed and filled," without giving them the things needed for the body, what good is that?  So also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead."  -James 2:14-17 (ESV)
